2020 NFL win totals, odds, predictions, best bets: Top model picks under 9.5 wins for Seahawks

After going 13-3 in 2018 en route to their first Super Bowl appearance in 17 years, the Rams were unable to qualify for the playoffs last season despite posting a 9-7 record. There may be cause for concern that the Rams will digress even further in 2020, as Jared Goff threw 10 fewer touchdown passes last year than he did in 2018 (32) and now will be without wide receiver Brandin Cooks and running back Todd Gurley.

Cooks was traded to Houston, while Gurley signed with Atlanta after being released by Los Angeles, which is projected to post 8.5 wins in the latest 2020 NFL odds from William Hill. The Baltimore Ravens and reigning Super Bowl-champion Kansas City Chiefs sit atop the list at 11.5 apiece, but which teams should you back with your picks on 2020 NFL win totals? Before making any NFL picks on 2020 season-long win totals, be sure to see the latest NFL predictions from SportsLine’s proven computer model

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times and has crushed human experts on a consistent basis. Since its 2015 inception, the model is up over $7,000 for $100 players on its top-rated NFL picks.

And when it comes to NFL win totals, the model is coming off another banner year. In 2019, it went 18-11 on its over-under picks, with three pushes.

Now, the model has generated each team’s projected win total, and in many cases it’s strikingly different than the Vegas line. You can head to SportsLine to see the picks.

The model’s top 2020 NFL win total predictions

The model says oddsmakers were way off when releasing 9.5 wins for Seattle. It strongly recommends going under since it has the Seahawks recording 8.5 victories.

Seattle has reached double-digit wins seven of the last eight seasons, making the playoffs in each of those seven campaigns. The team struggled down the stretch in 2019, however, as it lost three of its final four contests, all to division rivals.

Some of the troubles could be attributed to the running game, as the Seahawks lost three running backs to significant injuries as the year winded down. Leading rusher Chris Carson (1,230 yards) and backup C.J. Prosise suffered season-ending hip and arm injuries, respectively, in Week 16 after Rashaad Penny went down with a torn ACL two weeks earlier.

As a result, Seattle was forced to lure Marshawn Lynch out of retirement and sign Robert Turbin, with the former rushing for four touchdowns in three games including the playoffs. Prosise, Lynch and Turbin have not been re-signed and the Seahawks have done little to fortify their backfield this offseason other than sign veteran Carlos Hyde.

How to make 2020 NFL win total picks

The model also generated huge disparities on other teams, including the Eagles. Philadelphia posted nine wins a year ago and saw a full 16-game season from quarterback Carson Wentz. Oddsmakers set Philly’s 2020 win total at 9.5, and the projection model has a strong opinion on the team’s fortunes. You can see every projected win total for every team right here.
